Papazoglou Chalikias Anastasios
Senior Research Associate & Technical Advisor
Anastasios Papazoglou-Chalikias is a Senior Research Associate at the Information Technologies Institute (ITI-CERTH), where he leads the architectural design and technical implementation of complex digital ecosystems. His expertise lies in bridging the gap between experimental logic and stable, enterprise-grade software engineering.
System Architecture & Cloud Orchestration
Anastasios has a proven track record of designing secure, distributed ecosystems for international projects. This includes acting as Technical Advisor for Project RESCHOOL, where he oversees the validation of Energy Management Systems, and orchestrating the XR Cloud Architecture for Project eTryOn, utilizing Google Cloud and Serverless backends to enable cross-platform VR/AR interoperability.
Generative AI & Big Data
His recent work focuses on the deployment of Sovereign AI and RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) within zero-trust frameworks. He has engineered real-time Big Data pipelines using Kafka and the ELK stack for Smart City policy-making (CUTLER) and developed geospatial decision-support systems that optimize municipal resource allocation.
Immersive Technologies & Accessibility
As the lead for the Group’s XR software evolution, he transformed foundational 3D tools into VRExpo, a multi-user SaaS platform supporting synchronous avatar telepresence. His dedication to inclusive design led to the creation of MasVision, an award-winning retail accessibility platform that earned Platinum and Gold BITE and UX|CX awards for its innovative use of computer vision and distributed ETL microservices.
