PREDICTOM Consortium gathers for plenary meeting in Erlangen, Germany

The PREDICTOM Consortium held its first annual plenary meeting in Erlangen, Germany, from Monday, 30th September to Tuesday, 1st October 2024. Partners from across Europe and beyond gathered to review the project’s progress and discuss upcoming milestones. The meeting, hosted by Siemens Healthineers, featured presentations from other IHI projects (AD-RIDDLE and PROMINENT), an update from the IHI project officer, and input from the project’s Scientific Advisory Board, adding valuable insights to the discussions.

The first day included an interactive poster preparation and presentation session, providing an opportunity for in-depth exploration of key aspects of the project. This session, fostered collaboration across different work packages and helped identify topics of interest for the group discussions that took place on the second day. Key upcoming tasks include the finalization of the PREDICTOM screening platform and the enrollment of the first PREDICTOM study participant.

CERTH was represented by Spiros Nikolopoulos (WP1 Biomarkers Lead and member of the project’s Management Board), along with team members Kostas Georgiadis and Margarita Grammatikopoulou. They contributed to discussions on the project’s unique approach to risk stratification, data harmonization, feature extraction to drive prediction model development, and the need to define Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to streamline processes during the clinical study  — all critical elements to ensure the project’s success. CERTH’s role as WP1 Biomarkers Lead also includes the utilization of the developed Banking App and the definition of an EEG protocol, to enhance the ability to detect early stages of cognitive decline.

PREDICTOM is an international cross-sector initiative aimed at making dementia diagnostics more accessible to the public, and enhancing the detection and management of Alzheimer’s disease through a screening platform.
