The Greek AI Factory for accelerating AI innovation.
Pharos AI Factory is Greece’s national initiative to accelerate Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovation by providing robust AI and High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure (leveraging the pre-exascale supercomputer DAEDALUS), services and expertise. As one of the first seven AI Factories established under EuroHPC Joint Undertaking, Pharos aims to be a lighthouse of trustworthy AI in Southeastern Europe. Pharos’ mission is to foster an ethically-grounded, technologically advanced AI ecosystem that bridges academia, industry and the public sector. Pharos supports innovation, entrepreneurship, and research excellence in AI, focusing on health, culture & language, and sustainability.
Particularly in the case of healthcare, Pharos will establish a dedicated Health AI Hub that integrates electronic health records, medical imaging, and predictive analytics to drive advances in diagnostics, personalized medicine, and population health management, while ensuring adherence to EU standards on privacy, ethics, and trustworthy AI. In doing so, Pharos aims not only to strengthen clinical decision-making and healthcare delivery in Greece, but also to contribute to Europe’s broader ambition of responsible, human-centered AI in health.
