MasVision
Enhancing the autonomy of visually impaired people when visiting a supermarket through machine vision and auditory communication.
MasVision allows a visually-impaired user to scan the barcode located in the tab price on the shelf in front of every product in the supermarket and through his/her headphones to get information about full product name, its price, possible current discount or other offer. Appropriate haptics have been placed on all price signs at the supermarket so that the visually impaired people can easily locate the barcode with their finger and then scan it with their mobile phone. Additionally, the application provides the ability to easily scan the products on a shelf by doing swipe-left and swipe-right on the mobile phone.
