Dr Thanos Stavropoulos (he/him) is a Postdoctoral Researcher and Digital Health Team Lead at the Information Technologies Institute of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH-ITI). He holds a BSc (2009), an MSc (2011) and a PhD in “Web Services in Ambient Intelligence Environments” (2015) from the Computer Science Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (AUTH). In the last fifteen years, he has conducted research & innovation as part of both the industry and academia. As a Director in Quality – Digital Systems Team Lead at Pfizer, he has managed enterprise software solutions including generative AI tools. As a Technology & Innovation Sr. Manager at Pfizer, he has incubated and managed several innovation projects with the ecosystem of startups and academia in the fields of AI-ML, Bioinformatics, Quantum Computing and Medical Imaging. To date, he has implemented national and European research projects in the areas of the Internet of Things, e-Health, the Semantic Web, Decentralized Clinical Trials, e-Prescription and Smart Homes, co-authoring more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings in these topics. He is also a certified and active facilitator of innovation thinking workshops, agile development and mindfulness practices.
